Hello, this is Kim Yeon-jin.

Today I visited an accommodation that recently opened in Gangnam. It’s a place called UH Flat Gangnam. As a dermatology clinic director, I’ve long traveled to Gangnam frequently for work, so when I heard that an accommodation with this kind of concept had opened, I really wanted to check it out in person. Since the UHCELL Gangnam dermatology clinic I run is also located in Gangnam, I’m fairly familiar with the Gangnam commercial district. So I took this opportunity to take a close look at the actual atmosphere and the stay experience at UH Flat Gangnam.

Directions — Carefully Mapped Out, Starting from the Airport

For those coming from other regions like me — and because some of the readers who visit my blog may be coming to Gangnam from all across the country — I’ve laid out the directions in detail right from the start.

Coming from Incheon Airport

If you’re departing from Incheon Airport, taking the Airport Railroad (AREX) is the most convenient option. The Airport Railroad takes about an hour, and after getting off at Gangnam Station or Samseong Station, you can travel to the accommodation on foot or by taxi. I travel for work often and always use the Airport Railroad — Korea’s railway infrastructure is so well developed that I can get around stress-free even on a business trip. Especially for those who, like me, need to use their time efficiently, I highly recommend the Airport Railroad.

You can also get off at Samseong Station. Samseong Station is located over toward COEX, so it takes a little longer than Gangnam Station, but it also tends to be easier to catch a taxi there. If you take a taxi, you can reach Gangnam Station for roughly 5,000 to 7,000 won.

Coming from Gimpo Airport

Many of you may also be coming from Gimpo Airport. From Gimpo Airport, you can use either the Airport Railroad or a limousine bus. The Airport Railroad takes about 40 to 50 minutes to Gangnam Station, while the bus may take a bit longer depending on traffic, so I recommend giving yourself plenty of time to arrive.

Head out through Gangnam Station Exit 1. After exiting, walk along Teheran-ro — using a navigation app will make getting there even easier.

Location — A Strategic Spot in the Heart of Gangnam

The exact address of UH Flat Gangnam is 11, Teheran-ro 10-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. To describe the location a little further, it sits right between Gangnam Station and Yeoksam Station, which makes accessibility truly excellent.

  • Gangnam Station, Exit 1 → about a 7-minute walk
  • Yeoksam Station, Exit 3 → about a 5-minute walk (roughly 400 meters)

Using Yeoksam Station Exit 3 will get you there faster. I actually walked the route from Yeoksam Station Exit 3 myself, and the moment I passed the GS25 convenience store, the UH Flat Gangnam building came right into view. It’s located next to the Visual Art Center, so it was very easy to find my way.

One particular advantage is that there’s a GS25 convenience store right beside the building, so you can immediately pick up bottled water or a quick snack whenever you need one. As a dermatology clinic director, this is something I notice every time I travel for work — the accessibility of these basic conveniences is one of the key factors that determine how complete an accommodation feels.

Please note that check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Parking is not available inside the building, so if you’re coming by car, I recommend using a nearby public parking lot.

Exterior — A First Impression Full of Character

Let me start with the building’s exterior. As a newly built property that opened not long ago, UH Flat Gangnam boasts a clean, modern look. Its minimalist, white-toned design felt like a great match for the upscale atmosphere of the Gangnam commercial district.

When you arrive in front of the building and look up, the brand logo is engraved into the exterior wall like an illuminated sign, and I imagined it would look even more elegant at night. While running my dermatology clinic, I always pay close attention to interior design too, because the first impression patients get on their very first visit really matters. In that sense, the exterior of UH Flat Gangnam made an excellent first impression.

Lobby — Hitting Two Targets: Cleanliness and Functionality

The moment I stepped inside the building, the lobby greeted me. The lobby space is smaller than expected, but it’s designed efficiently, so there’s no wasted space and it gives off a clean, tidy feel.

The white-toned interior is paired with well-placed indirect lighting, creating an atmosphere that is both calm and modern. I’m always drawn to this kind of clean interior. It’s the same with a dermatology clinic — creating an environment where patients can feel at ease is so important.

Self Check-in — Checking In Without the Wait

One of the biggest features of UH Flat is its self check-in system. Rather than waiting at a front desk to check in like a traditional hotel, you complete your registration in advance through an app, receive the door-lock passcode, and head straight to your room.

I really loved this approach. Anyone who travels often will understand — the wait time at check-in can be more stressful than you’d expect. UH Flat completely eliminates that inconvenience. Once you finish pre-registration through the app, you can walk right into your room the moment you arrive, so I’d highly recommend it to anyone with a tight travel schedule.

There’s also a check-in kiosk set up in one corner of the lobby, so guests who find the app registration difficult can check in directly at the kiosk. The process is very simple, and I got the impression that even guests from English-speaking countries would find it easy to use.

Lounge & Luggage Storage — Extra Conveniences

The lobby area also has a separate lounge space. It’s free for all guests to use, making it perfect for waiting before check-in or simply taking a short rest.

Luggage storage is available as well, so if you arrive early or want to stay out a little longer after check-out, you can leave your bags and stroll around Gangnam unburdened. I always check whether luggage storage is available when I travel, and an accommodation that offers this service is truly convenient.

On top of that, there’s a café on the first floor of the building, making it a great spot for a cup of coffee before or after check-in. Having a place to take a quick break amid a busy schedule in Gangnam is a major plus.

Wrapping Up

In Part 1, we took a look at UH Flat Gangnam’s location and directions, its exterior, and the check-in process and lobby.

To get straight to the point: in terms of location and accessibility, this is a truly outstanding place to stay. With its strategic position between Gangnam Station and Yeoksam Station, and very convenient access from the airport, it stands out. As a dermatology clinic director, I’m quite familiar with the Gangnam commercial district, and I think it’s genuinely rare to find accommodation that sits in such a central location while still maintaining a quiet, calm atmosphere.

The self check-in system was also incredibly convenient. Being able to walk right in without any waiting is something I believe anyone who values their time will appreciate.

In the next part, I’ll give you a thorough review — complete with photos I took myself inside the rooms of UH Flat Gangnam — of the living room, kitchen, everyday amenities, and the duplex (two-story) bedroom layout. I’ll write it honestly, based on what I saw, heard, and felt firsthand.

See you soon in Part 2. 😊
