Hello, I’m Dr. Kim Yeon-Jin, Medical Director of UH CELL Gangnam (formerly Doctor Petit Clinic Gangnam).
The weather has certainly been getting much hotter lately.
Every summer, we see a noticeable increase in patients visiting our clinic for body contouring treatments such as ONDA and body botox treatment.
In Seoul—particularly in the Gangnam area—we also receive a steady stream of inquiries about body contouring and skin tightening treatments throughout the season.
This reflects a growing trend in Korean aesthetics: more people are recognizing the importance of tailoring their skincare and aesthetic treatments to the changing seasons. In fact, interest in summer skincare and non-surgical rejuvenation treatments continues to grow in Korea each year.
One question we hear frequently during consultations is: “Is it okay to have a skin tightening or lifting treatment during the summer?”
During the summer, increased sweating and oil production can make pores appear more noticeable, while stronger UV exposure may accelerate the breakdown of collagen and elastin.
As a result, the skin may appear less firm. Even so, many people postpone lifting treatments simply because they assume the hot weather makes them unsuitable.
In urban environments such as Seoul, where intense sunlight is combined with heat exposure, seasonal changes in skin condition can become even more noticeable.
The short answer is yes—skin tightening and lifting treatments can absolutely be performed during the summer.
Among the various options available, Titanium Lifting is one of the treatments I often recommend during the warmer months.

Let me explain why Titanium Lifting can be a good option during the summer.
Understanding how the treatment works before undergoing any aesthetic procedure can help you make a more informed decision about what’s right for your skin. Whether you’re considering a lifting treatment in Gangnam or elsewhere, these points may help you determine if Titanium is the right choice for you.
1. A Lifting Treatment with Minimal Downtime
One of the key advantages of Titanium Lifting is its relatively minimal downtime.
Titanium Lifting features the ICE Plus cooling system, which is designed to help reduce heat sensation during treatment while minimizing thermal stress to the skin’s surface.
As a result, the procedure typically involves minimal recovery time, and most patients are able to return to their normal daily activities shortly after treatment.
Some people hesitate to undergo lifting treatments during the summer because of the hot weather. However, because Titanium Lifting generally involves minimal downtime, it can be a suitable option to consider even during the warmer months. These advantages have also contributed to the growing interest in Titanium Lifting within Korea’s aesthetic medicine community.
2. Skin Brightening and Tone-Enhancing Benefits
During the summer, many people notice that their skin appears dull or becomes more tanned due to increased sun exposure.
Titanium is a laser system that simultaneously utilizes three different wavelengths. Among them, the 755 nm wavelength selectively targets melanin in the superficial layers of the skin, helping to improve the appearance of skin tone and promote a brighter, more radiant complexion.
For this reason, Titanium is a suitable option for those looking to improve skin firmness while also enhancing overall skin brightness in a single treatment.
It may be particularly beneficial for individuals who are frequently exposed to sunlight, especially in urban environments such as Seoul, where cumulative UV exposure can have a noticeable impact on the skin.

3. Painless Treatment with an Immediate Tightening Effect
Compared with many other skin tightening and lifting devices, Titanium is generally associated with less treatment discomfort. In addition, many patients notice an immediate feeling of firmer, more defined skin after the procedure, contributing to high overall patient satisfaction.
Of course, no treatment is without its limitations, no matter how advanced the technology may be.
One point that is sometimes discussed with Titanium is the longevity of its results.
Early on, some people commented that the results lasted for less than a month. However, clinical experience suggests that the duration of results can vary considerably from person to person. If you are expecting the same level of lifting as treatments such as Ultherapy or Thermage, Titanium may feel less dramatic by comparison. However, many patients who receive regular maintenance treatments report that the results last longer than they initially expected.
As with any aesthetic procedure, treatment outcomes and longevity depend on individual factors, and clinical experience in Korea has shown considerable variation among patients.
The Two Treatment Modes of Titanium
Titanium Lifting features two treatment modes: Stack Mode and SHR Mode.
Stack Mode works by delivering multiple pulses of energy to the same treatment area, allowing thermal energy to build up gradually.
Because it targets relatively deeper structures, including the SMAS layer and retaining ligaments, it may help improve concerns such as a double chin and skin laxity. However, because of its higher energy concentration, some patients may experience a greater sensation of heat or discomfort during treatment.
In contrast, SHR Mode is performed by continuously moving the handpiece over the treatment area in a smooth, gliding motion.
The technique is often compared to gently ironing the skin, delivering energy evenly to the dermis while providing a more gradual stimulation. As a result, patients generally experience less heat sensation and discomfort than with Stack Mode.

How these two treatment modes are combined and customized to your individual facial anatomy and treatment goals can influence both the overall results and the longevity of the outcome.
A personalized treatment plan is especially important in busy aesthetic centers such as Gangnam, where practitioners treat patients with a wide variety of skin conditions and aesthetic concerns.
How to Choose the Right Clinic for Titanium Lifting

This is why the provider’s clinical experience and ability to use the technology effectively are so important.
It is advisable to choose a clinic with experienced providers who can appropriately combine Stack Mode and SHR Mode based on your individual skin condition and treatment goals. Beyond simply having the device, hands-on clinical experience with a wide range of cases is equally important. This emphasis on treatment planning and provider expertise is widely recognized within Korea’s aesthetic medicine community.
In reality, no two patients have exactly the same skin. Just as every face is unique, so are each person’s skin type, concerns, and treatment goals. Because of these individual differences, the most effective approach is often a personalized treatment plan that can incorporate a range of technologies and techniques tailored to each patient’s needs.
Even during my time as Medical Director of Doctor Petit Clinic Gangnam, I focused on providing personalized treatments using a variety of skin tightening and lifting technologies.
Although the clinic is now known as UH CELL Gangnam (formerly Doctor Petit Clinic Gangnam), we continue to develop customized treatment plans based on a wide range of lifting devices. Over the years, this approach has evolved alongside changing trends and clinical experience within Korea’s aesthetic medicine field.
You Don’t Have to Avoid Lifting Treatments Just Because It’s Summer
Hot weather doesn’t necessarily mean you need to postpone your lifting treatment.
Lifting treatments work by raising the temperature of the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production. For this reason, excessive cooling immediately after treatment may not always be beneficial.
As long as you practice good sun protection and keep your skin well moisturized, there is generally no reason why you cannot undergo a lifting treatment during the summer. In fact, maintaining a consistent skincare routine is especially important during the warmer months.
If you’re considering a lifting treatment, we encourage you to schedule a consultation to discuss the options that best suit your skin and treatment goals.
