Hello, I’m Dr. Kim Yeon-Jin. Medical Director of UH CELL Gangnam (formerly Dr. Petit Clinic Gangnam). Today, I’d like to talk about facial redness, a concern we’ve been receiving many inquiries about recently in Gangnam, and introduce Vitaran, a skin booster that may help improve skin damaged by the summer season.

Recently, I’ve noticed that more and more patients have been visiting our clinic with concerns about facial redness. As a result, we’ve also seen a growing number of inquiries about skin booster treatments. In Seoul, seasonal changes often bring a variety of skin concerns, making personalized skin treatments an increasingly popular choice throughout the year.

During the summer, the skin barrier is more easily compromised by intense UV exposure, swimming, and other outdoor activities, making these concerns even more noticeable.

When the skin barrier becomes weakened, it can lead not only to facial redness but also to a variety of other skin concerns. In these cases, Vitaran, a skin booster formulated with PN (polynucleotide) to support skin repair and regeneration, may be worth considering.Regenerative treatments like Vitaran have also become increasingly popular in Korean aesthetic medicine as more patients seek treatments that focus on restoring overall skin health.

What Is the Vitaran Skin Booster?

Vitaran is a skin booster formulated with PN (polynucleotide) derived from trout DNA. PN is a well-established ingredient known for its skin-rejuvenating properties. Beyond supporting skin repair, it may also help reduce inflammatory responses, stimulate collagen production within the dermis, and improve overall skin thickness and resilience.

In addition, PN has a highly hydrophilic molecular structure, allowing it to attract and retain moisture effectively within the skin. As a result, it can help relieve concerns associated with a weakened skin barrier—such as dryness and facial redness—while supporting the skin’s natural recovery process and restoring a healthier overall complexion. This regenerative approach has become a widely adopted treatment strategy in Korean aesthetic medicine.

How Is Vitaran Different from Other Skin Boosters?

One of the key differences with Vitaran lies in the quality of its raw materials. The trout used to produce its PN (polynucleotide) is raised in a carefully controlled land-based seawater aquaculture system, ensuring a clean and stable farming environment from the very beginning. In addition, quarterly safety testing has confirmed no detectable levels of antibiotics, radioactive substances, heavy metals, or any of the other 142 tested contaminants.
Following this rigorous quality control process, Vitaran has also received approval from Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS), further demonstrating its safety and quality standards.

Another advantage of Vitaran is its relatively affordable price point. Because the trout are raised in a stable, controlled aquaculture environment, production is less affected by seasonal or climate-related changes. In addition, a consistent feed supply helps ensure a reliable source of raw materials.

This stable production process contributes to greater cost efficiency, allowing Vitaran to be offered at a more accessible price compared with some other regenerative skin boosters. For many patients considering Korean aesthetic treatments, this balance of quality, safety, and affordability is an important factor.

Another distinctive feature of Vitaran is that it offers customized treatment options tailored to each patient’s specific skin concerns.

Vitaran is available in three formulations—Type I, Classic, and Type S—allowing the treatment to be tailored to different skin concerns and treatment areas. Type I is ideal for delicate areas with thin skin, such as around the eyes and mouth, where fine lines are more common. Classic is typically used for larger treatment areas, including the entire face. Type S, which has a higher viscosity, is better suited for deeper wrinkles and acne scars that require more targeted correction.

This ability to customize the treatment according to the treatment area and each patient’s specific skin concerns is one of Vitaran’s greatest strengths. Personalized treatment planning is an important part of Korean aesthetic medicine, as it allows practitioners to select the most appropriate formulation for each individual’s skin condition and treatment goals.

Treatments That Pair Well with Vitaran

Combining Vitaran with radiofrequency (RF) skin tightening may provide enhanced, complementary results. RF treatments work by delivering controlled heat to the dermis, stimulating the skin’s natural healing response and promoting collagen production. When Vitaran is used alongside RF treatment, it can further support the skin’s repair process and regeneration, helping to optimize overall treatment outcomes.

Vitaran also pairs well with laser toning treatments for skin brightening.

While laser toning helps improve pigmentation and overall skin tone, Vitaran supports skin recovery by enhancing skin quality and reducing inflammation. As a result, it may also help minimize the temporary redness that can occur after laser treatment.

This combination approach is widely used in Korean aesthetic clinics to promote both skin rejuvenation and a smoother recovery.

Who Is Vitaran Suitable For?

Vitaran is particularly well suited for patients with different skin concerns in different areas of the face.

For example, Type I, with its finer particle size, is ideal for treating fine lines in delicate areas such as around the eyes and mouth. For deeper concerns, including nasolabial folds and acne scars, Type S is recommended thanks to its higher viscosity, which provides more targeted support where it is needed most.

Classic is typically used as the foundation for treating larger areas, such as the entire face. When needed, it can be combined with Type I or Type S to address specific concerns, allowing for a more precise and personalized treatment approach.

This customized treatment strategy is one of the strengths of Korean aesthetic medicine, enabling practitioners to tailor each procedure to the patient’s unique skin condition and goals.

We have our own techniques to help minimize treatment discomfort.

Many patients also ask about the level of discomfort during the treatment.

Since my time at Dr. Petit Clinic, I’ve worked with a wide range of skin boosters, and one of the most common pieces of feedback I receive is that Vitaran is noticeably more comfortable than many other skin boosters.

Of course, no injectable treatment is completely painless. However, based on our experience across many cases, Vitaran is generally considered to be a more comfortable treatment than many other skin boosters. This is one of the points we often discuss with patients during consultations, as treatment comfort is an important consideration for many people.

For patients who are hesitant because of treatment discomfort, we also have our own techniques to help make the procedure as comfortable as possible.

Over the years, we’ve treated a wide variety of patients, and through that experience, we’ve continually refined our techniques to help minimize treatment discomfort.

We apply a topical anesthetic and allow sufficient time for it to take effect under occlusion before the procedure. Depending on the patient’s needs, we may also treat one side at a time or use a nerve block when appropriate to further improve comfort.

We continue to refine these techniques through experience with a wide variety of cases in our Gangnam clinic.

Finally, post-treatment care is just as important.

After Vitaran treatment, soothing and intensive hydration are essential for optimal recovery. At UH CELL Gangnam (formerly Dr. Petit Clinic Gangnam), we provide a soothing facial mask treatment after the procedure to help calm the skin and support the recovery process.

For about one week after treatment, we recommend avoiding saunas, alcohol, and strenuous exercise. It’s also best to postpone exfoliating treatments, such as chemical peels, until your skin has fully recovered. In addition, be sure to wear sunscreen daily and keep your skin well moisturized to support the healing process and achieve the best possible results.

Proper post-treatment care is considered an essential part of achieving the best possible results in Korean aesthetic medicine.
