Seoul Lifting Clinics: 4 Things to Verify Before You Book

2026/10/09

If you are looking for a lifting clinic in Seoul and searching specifically for one where the chief physician performs the procedure, the records you can check before booking are the physician’s public credentials, the clinic’s consultation language support, the recovery logistics available during a short stay, and the public dispute-resolution path if something goes wrong. Below is what you can verify for each of these at UH CELL Clinic Gangnam and Seocho.

Hello, I’m Dr. Kim Yeon-jin, Chief Physician at UH CELL Clinic Gangnam.

Patients who travel to Seoul for a lifting procedure and look for “the director who performs it personally” are really asking one underlying question: can I trust the clinician who will be working on my face, and what happens if something goes wrong. If you’re visiting from overseas, you have little time to verify anything once you land. That’s why I recommend reviewing what is already public before you leave home.

Check the Clinician’s Public Credentials by Name

The first thing to verify is whether a clinic’s physician page names the clinician specifically and lists real credentials: the medical school attended, the training hospital, academic society memberships, and any device- or product-specific titles. If a title is listed, check which device or product it is actually tied to.

My own credentials, as published on our clinic’s physician page, are:

  • Graduate of Seoul National University Graduate School; trained at Seoul National University Hospital
  • Allergan faculty member (Juvederm, Botox)
  • Key Doctor for Potenza and Ultherapy Z
  • Lecturer, Korean Academy of Clinical Aesthetic Medicine; full member, Korean Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and Laser Medicine

Dr. Kim Kyung-soo, Chief Physician at our Seocho location, graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine and holds medical licenses in both Korea and Japan. If you are visiting from Japan, that is a credential you can verify through Japan’s own licensing system.

Consultation Language Support Affects Treatment Accuracy

The second point to verify is whether you can communicate your exact concerns in your own language. Even with the same Ultherapy or Potenza treatment, the plan changes depending on which area you want lifted, how much, and what procedures you’ve had before. Requests like “keep it natural” or “focus on the jawline” can get lost in translation, so it helps to write down what you want in advance.

Our Gangnam location has staff who can support consultations in Japanese, Chinese, and English. We review each patient’s skin condition individually before designing a treatment plan. If any part of the diagnosis is unclear during your consultation, ask again on the spot.

If Your Stay Is Short, Check the Recovery Logistics Too

The third point to verify is where and how you rest after the procedure. If you’re staying in Seoul for about 2 to 7 days, it’s worth planning how you’ll get from the treatment room back to where you’re staying on the day of the procedure.

Both of our locations operate as on-site facilities inside UHC Group hotels, not as separate clinics with a hotel partnership.

Location Address
Gangnam UH FLAT SIGNATURE Gangnam (2nd-3rd floor, WD Building, 13 Teheran-ro 8-gil)
Seocho UH FLAT The Seocho (30 Banpo-daero 16-gil)

Guests staying at a UHC Group hotel can choose one complimentary option: a 30-minute oxygen chamber session or a vitamin IV drip. If you use both, the vitamin IV is priced at 55,000 KRW. Check the promotion page for full terms. Procedures are performed in a private treatment room.

Know the Public Recourse Path if Something Goes Wrong

The fourth point to verify sits outside the clinic itself. The mediation and arbitration system run by the Korea Medical Dispute Mediation and Arbitration Agency, under the Ministry of Health and Welfare, applies to foreign patients as well as Korean nationals. According to Government 24 guidance (2026), consultations are available at 1670-2545.

There is a condition worth knowing. Under the Agency’s own guidance, a mediation case generally only proceeds once the hospital agrees to participate. Mediation proceeds regardless of the hospital’s consent only in defined situations: patient death, unconsciousness lasting a month or more, or a severe disability outcome.

Government 24 guidance also lists the supporting documents a mediation request typically needs: medical records, before-and-after photos, and treatment receipts. It’s worth keeping your receipts and any paperwork from the day of your procedure until well after you return home.

What to Send Before You Book

To make your consultation as accurate as possible, please include the following when you book:

  1. The procedure you’re interested in and the area that concerns you most
  2. Any prior lifting or injectable procedures, with approximate dates
  3. Current medications and allergy history
  4. How long you’ll be in Seoul and your return date
  5. The language you’d like to use for your consultation

FAQ

Q. Can I have my consultation in Japanese?
Our Gangnam location has staff who can support consultations in Japanese, Chinese, and English. Let us know your preferred language when you book.

Q. Do I need to stay at the hotel to get the free oxygen chamber or vitamin IV?
The complimentary option is available to guests staying at a UHC Group hotel, and it is one choice between a 30-minute oxygen chamber session or a vitamin IV drip. If you won’t be staying at the hotel, check the promotion page or ask during your consultation about the terms that apply.

Q. Can I get medical records to show another clinic after I return home?
Article 21 of Korea’s Medical Service Act allows patients to request to view and receive copies of their own medical records. If your departure date is already set, it’s easier to request this while you’re still in Seoul.

Q. Can consultation and treatment both happen in a single visit?
That depends on your diagnosis, the procedure involved, and how long you’re staying. Let us know your schedule when you book so we can factor it into the consultation.

If you’re planning a lifting procedure around your time in Seoul, you can start by booking a consultation with UH CELL Clinic.
