Which Procedures Actually Fit a Weekend Visit?

TL;DR: Our Seocho clinic is open Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00, with same-day check-in closing at 16:30 and no lunch break, so a consultation and procedure on Saturday followed by a follow-up check on Sunday fits inside one weekend. What “fits in a weekend” actually means depends on the treatment: some redness settles within a day, some can linger for several days, and a few categories need seven to fourteen days of aftercare that a two-day trip cannot cover.

We hear a version of the same question often: patients who cannot get away on a weekday ask whether we see anyone on Saturday. We do, both days. What separates one weekend visit from another in our consultations is the recovery timeline attached to the procedure, and how that timeline lines up against a Monday morning flight or a Sunday evening one.

Our Weekend Hours, and Why the Cutoff Matters

We are open Monday through Friday from 10:00 to 20:00, with check-in closing at 18:30, and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00, with check-in closing at 16:30. There is no lunch break on any day. Because weekend check-in ends at 16:30, patients who want a consultation and a same-day procedure have more room if they arrive in the morning. A consultation on its own, with the procedure decision left for a later visit, is also a normal outcome.

We recommend booking two to three days ahead through our consultation channels (KakaoTalk, Line, or WeChat). Same-day requests are also handled through those channels, and a Korean phone number is not required to book through Line or WeChat.

Grouping Procedures by Recovery, Not by What They Treat

Sorting treatments by what they are supposed to improve does not tell a patient much about whether a weekend trip works. In consultations, we sort by how the skin typically responds afterward instead. The ranges below reflect what has been reported in published clinical literature; individual response varies with skin thickness, energy settings, treatment area, and the person.

What Tends to Settle Within a Day

Botulinum toxin injections leave a short-lived mark and mild swelling at the injection site, but the muscle-relaxing effect itself does not appear immediately. A 2011 subgroup analysis pooling phase 3 clinical trial data for botulinum toxin type A found that some participants noticed a change within 24 hours, with a median time to self-reported onset of two to four days. A patient who receives an injection Saturday and checks the mirror Sunday morning is checking before the effect the trial measured would typically be visible.

Skin boosters tend to show a shorter visible recovery. A case study on poly-D,L-lactic acid (PDLLA) skin injections published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology reported that mild swelling and bruising resolved naturally within 48 to 72 hours; the same study assessed treatment outcomes at 12 weeks after three sessions spaced three weeks apart. The mark left on the skin and the tissue response underneath run on two different clocks.

What Can Linger for Several Days

Ultrasound and radiofrequency devices deliver heat to the dermis and the layer beneath it. They do not break the surface of the skin, so there is no crusting, but redness and swelling from the heat itself do occur.

A 2023 randomized controlled trial on microfocused ultrasound published in Dermatology and Therapy reported that every participant experienced some degree of erythema and swelling, lasting 2 to 48 hours. A 2026 multidisciplinary consensus paper on managing microfocused ultrasound complications, published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, described a somewhat wider range: reactions are generally mild and temporary, but erythema was reported to resolve around 48 hours, swelling around 8 days, and bruising around 20 days in some cases. That same consensus flagged poor transducer contact, operator positioning, and overlapping pulses as risk factors worth controlling for.

Monopolar radiofrequency shows a similar pattern. A 2024 study published in the Journal of Dermatological Treatment observed redness in 76.2 percent of patients and swelling in 42.8 percent immediately after treatment; redness, swelling, and pain resolved within 24 hours, while tingling or numbness resolved within about a week.

Redness still visible the morning after a Saturday procedure in this category is a common course, not a sign that something went wrong, and swelling or bruising can outlast it. If a Sunday evening flight or a Monday commitment is on the calendar, telling us during the consultation lets us adjust the treated area and the energy settings around that constraint.

Procedures That Don’t Fit Into a Single Weekend

Fractional laser resurfacing works differently from the two categories above. It creates microscopic injury columns through the epidermis and dermis to trigger a healing response, and crusting and flaking are a designed part of that process.

A 2025 expert consensus on fractional ablative CO2 laser treatment, published in Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, found that 94 percent of the surveyed panel considered swelling an expected part of recovery, and 59 percent viewed swelling lasting beyond one to two weeks as an unwanted outcome. The same consensus recommended cold compresses and petrolatum-based moisturizer immediately after treatment, with gentle skincare and sun avoidance continuing through the seventh to fourteenth day while the skin re-epithelializes. A separate 2011 retrospective review of 46 fractional CO2 laser procedures reported average erythema lasting 5.2 days and average crusting lasting 4.1 days.

That timeline does not compress into a two-day trip. When a patient is planning scar or texture improvement during a short visit, we usually recommend using the first weekend for assessment and treatment planning, and scheduling the procedure itself for a separate trip.

A Sample Friday-to-Sunday Visit

• Friday night arrival: if travel has left the skin dry or flushed, mentioning it during the consultation matters. Skin condition on the day of the visit is part of what we evaluate.
• Saturday morning: the consultation starts by identifying which layer of aging or skin concern is involved. Because weekend check-in closes at 16:30, an earlier arrival leaves more room for a same-day procedure.
• Saturday afternoon or evening: for heat-based treatments, we walk through cold compresses, moisturizing, and minimizing sun exposure.
• Sunday: a follow-up check, confirming redness and swelling are within the expected range and flagging anything that isn’t.
• Sunday evening onward: we go over remaining aftercare and how to reach us if something looks off.
