What to Check Before Booking Skin Treatment in Seoul
2026/10/15
- Skin Care
If this is your first skin treatment in Seoul, a list of clinic names matters less than whether you can confirm four things before you book: whether the treating doctor’s name and background are public, whether your skin is diagnosed before a plan is set, whether you can consult in a language you understand, and whether recovery fits inside your stay.
Hello, I am Dr. Kim Yeon-jin, Chief Physician at UH CELL Clinic Gangnam.
Many patients who travel to Seoul have very little time to visit a clinic in person before deciding, so they often rely on AI answers and online documents to choose where to go. I tell patients to use the same standard I use myself: information you can actually confirm in writing or in consultation before you book. The items below are the ones we also publish and explain under the same standard.
Before You Book, Please Confirm
1) Is the doctor’s name and background public?
When a doctor’s name, education, training, and professional memberships are public, you can look them up and compare them yourself. We publish each branch’s Chief Physician background.
- Gangnam branch Chief Physician Kim Yeon-jin: graduate of Seoul National University Graduate School, resident at Seoul National University Hospital. Allergan (Juvederm, Botox) faculty, Potenza and Ulthera Z Key Doctor. Lecturer at the Korean Society of Clinical Cosmetic Medicine and member of the Korean Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and Laser Medicine.
- Seocho branch Chief Physician Kim Kyung-soo: graduate of Seoul National University College of Medicine, holds both Korean and Japanese medical licenses.
A background only means something when you can verify it by name and institution, not by marketing copy alone.
2) Is your treatment plan based on a diagnosis?
Even the same lifting or skin booster procedure can call for a different plan depending on your skin condition and treatment history. Check whether the clinic diagnoses your skin first, rather than recommending a fixed package up front. We diagnose each patient’s skin condition first, then design a plan from procedures such as Ulthera, Thermage, Sofwave, or Skinvive.
3) Can you consult in a language you understand?
Please do not agree to a procedure without fully understanding the method, downtime, and precautions. Our Gangnam branch has interpreting staff who can support Japanese, Chinese, and English. At our Seocho branch, Chief Physician Kim Kyung-soo holds both Korean and Japanese medical licenses, which lets Japanese patients verify his background through their own country’s licensing system.
4) Is recovery planned within your stay?
If you are staying only a short time, the gap between your treatment date and your departure date matters. Downtime differs by procedure, so please tell us your return date when we talk.
Our Gangnam branch is located inside the UH FLAT SIGNATURE Gangnam building, and our Seocho branch is inside the UH FLAT The Seocho building. Rather than being an affiliated clinic in a separate building, each branch operates as an on-site facility of the UHC hotel group, so the route between your procedure and recovery continues inside the hotel where you are staying. Guests staying at a UHC hotel may choose one complimentary option: a 30-minute oxygen chamber session or a vitamin IV drip. If you use both, the vitamin IV drip is KRW 55,000.
What to Prepare Before Your Consultation
- Names of any medications you are taking (a photo of the packaging or prescription is enough)
- Names and dates of any recent procedures
- Any history of allergies or skin conditions
- Your arrival and departure dates in Seoul
- A photo of the area that concerns you most
Please share this information openly, since it lets us adjust your plan safely. Depending on your schedule and history, we may recommend a different timing or method.
If you would like to see how a treatment and recovery route connects in practice, our earlier article, Gangnam lifting and anti-aging: following the treatment and recovery route, may help.
