Hello, this is Kim Yeon-jin.
In Part 2, I’ll give you a detailed review of how the interior of UH Flat Gangnam’s room is laid out, along with photos I took. I’ll explain everything thoroughly based on the photos I captured during my own visit, so I hope you’ll read on. As a dermatology clinic director, I’m always sensitive about an accommodation’s cleanliness and living infrastructure. After all, I keep the examination room where I see my patients spotless at all times. It was with that kind of eye that I examined the rooms at UH Flat Gangnam.

Living Room — Warmth and Functionality, Both Covered
The moment I opened the door, the tasteful interior caught my eye. Built on a clean white-toned base, it also incorporates warm wood accents at just the right touches, achieving a look that is crisp and tidy yet never cold.
The living room isn’t as spacious as you might expect, but it’s laid out efficiently, so I was able to spend my time comfortably and without any inconvenience no matter where I was. Against one wall sits a long sofa, generous enough in size for two people to lie down on. In front of the sofa is a movable TV, and I connected to Netflix and YouTube right away. OTT streaming services like Netflix and YouTube were well set up, so you can use them without any hassle.
As a dermatology clinic director, I have a habit of putting on Netflix while organizing my treatment journal at night, and in this kind of environment, I think I could have kept up that routine very comfortably. Haha.
The small table beside the sofa was the perfect height for setting down drinks or snacks, so you’ll be able to fully enjoy some snack time too — laying out a few treats and munching away while watching Netflix.

Kitchen — Simple Cooking, Ample Facilities
A kitchen space was also built into one corner of the living room. It’s not common to find this kind of kitchen space in a hotel room, but UH Flat Gangnam had this aspect really well equipped.
Kitchen amenities list:
- Induction cooktop: A two-burner cooktop is provided, so simple cooking is more than possible.
- Microwave: Installed below the air conditioning/heating unit, so I had no trouble finding it.
- Refrigerator: A larger-than-expected refrigerator was provided, and inside were four bottles of water, so I didn’t need to go out and buy any.
- Basic cookware: Essentials like pots, a frying pan, plates, chopsticks, and spoons were all available.
- Cooking supplies: Paper towels, a dish sponge, and the like were also provided.
I’m the type who likes to cook simple meals even when traveling for work. As a dermatology clinic director, I have a habit of trying to maintain a healthy diet even amid a busy schedule. The kitchen at UH Flat was a truly ideal environment for someone like me. I especially appreciated the thoughtful detail of having plenty of bottled water stocked in the refrigerator. Not having to buy water separately — a small consideration like this seems to elevate the stay experience by a whole level.
You can easily cook something as simple as instant noodles or rice, so those staying long-term will be all the more satisfied.
Living Infrastructure — This Is UH Flat’s True Competitive Edge
This was one of the very reasons I visited UH Flat Gangnam — its living infrastructure was genuinely excellent. Having this kind of living infrastructure in a residential-style accommodation rather than a hotel means you can secure both long-term stays and everyday convenience all at once.

Samsung AirDresser — The Pinnacle of Garment Care
The facility I liked most was, without a doubt, the Samsung AirDresser (clothing care system). It stood next to the room’s closet, and since I’m someone who puts a lot of care into my clothing, I fell for this facility the instant I spotted it.
The AirDresser is especially useful in winter or on days when fine dust (particulate pollution) is severe. That’s because it prevents odors from clinging to your outerwear and leaves a pleasant scent on your clothes. As a dermatology clinic director, I believe I should always greet my patients with a neat appearance. If an AirDresser is provided in the room, you can hang your coat in it at night and put it on fresh and fluffy in the morning — truly a perfect system.
It was also really simple to use. You just hang your clothes, close the door, and press a single button. Inside the AirDresser, deodorizing and fragrance are applied to the clothes automatically, so when I opened it the next morning, I could put on fresh, fluffy clothing. This is a major advantage.
As a dermatology clinic director and a Miss Universe judge, I tend to take my own grooming seriously at all times. Having used UH Flat’s AirDresser myself, I was genuinely satisfied. Skincare matters, of course, but I believe that true self-care is complete only when you attend perfectly to garment care as well.
Washing Machine — A Must-Have for Long Stays
A washing machine was provided as well. For those on long business trips or staying several nights in Gangnam, the presence of a washing machine is a genuinely important deciding factor. When you eat out, food odors can cling to your clothes, and over a long itinerary, situations where it’s hard to do laundry are bound to come up.
Detergent was also provided in front of the washing machine, and since the instructions were explained on the kiosk screen, even first-time users would be able to operate it easily. I gave it a quick test, and the operating noise wasn’t as loud as I’d expected, so it seemed like you could use it at night without any inconvenience.
Cooking Facilities — Simple Cooking, Ample Satisfaction
I tried cooking something simple on the induction cooktop. It responded quickly and was easy to use. Among the healthy meals I always make a point of eating as a dermatology clinic director are simply prepared chicken breast and vegetables, and having facilities like these makes it easy to manage my diet even while traveling, which I really appreciated.
Being able to cook something as simple as instant noodles or rice meant that if you check in late at night and get hungry, you can whip something up to eat right away — a genuinely big plus. I think this is the biggest difference between a hotel and a residential-style accommodation.

Duplex Bedroom — UH Flat’s Greatest Appeal
Now, let’s get into the part that is UH Flat Gangnam’s biggest feature and was my own greatest interest — the duplex (two-story) layout.
UH Flat Gangnam has a duplex structure with the living room and kitchen on the lower level and the bedroom on the upper level. The greatest advantage of this layout is that the space is naturally separated. You can enjoy a party with friends downstairs, then head up to sleep — that’s how you can use it. Even with four people, you can stay perfectly comfortably.
From the Lower Level to the Upper Level — Climbing the Stairs
The staircase leading from the lower level up to the upper level was set in one corner of the living room. The stairs had a gentler slope than I expected, so I could go up and down safely, and the handrail was installed at a height that’s easy to grip, so it seemed there’d be no problem for adults or children to use.
Even while heading up to the upper level, the structure lets you take in the entire lower level at a glance, so it was easy to grasp the spatial arrangement. I really liked this duplex layout — its appeal is that it doesn’t merely divide the space, but lets you take in the whole visually as well.
Upper-Level Bedroom — A Space for Restful Sleep That Protects Your Privacy
The moment I went up to the upper-level bedroom, a spacious area opened up. Two queen-size beds were arranged there, and another TV was installed in front of the beds. There was also another closet on one side — a bit smaller in scale than the downstairs closet, but with more than enough basic storage space.
The bedding quality was good, too. As a dermatology clinic director, I tend to be sensitive about bedding quality — if a bed is too hard or too soft, I actually can’t sleep comfortably. UH Flat’s bedding had just the right firmness, so even people with sensitive sleep like me should be able to drift off comfortably.
The vantage point of looking down at the lower level from the upper-level bedroom was really nice. With the living room visible at a glance, you can easily keep track of each other’s activities when staying with family or friends, while heading up to the bedroom gives you a structure where you can sleep soundly with your privacy protected.
And the fact that there’s a TV on the upper level too was really great. I have a habit of falling asleep while watching Netflix at night. If you’re watching Netflix downstairs and get sleepy, you can head upstairs and continue on the other TV, so the continuity of entertainment was well maintained.
A large mirror was installed inside the closet, so I could check my outfit right beside it while getting ready for a business trip. I think details like these elevate the stay experience by a notch.

View — A Beautiful City View in the Heart of Gangnam
The scenery beyond the window was truly lovely as well. Since UH Flat Gangnam is located right in the heart of Gangnam, the city view was quite nice.
During the day, you can take in the sight of Gangnam’s modern buildings lined up beyond the window, and at night, you can enjoy a cityscape of glittering neon signs. Whenever I stay at an accommodation with this kind of cityscape, I feel as though it elevates the mood of the trip to the fullest.
On clear-weather days, the scenery viewed from the window was truly beautiful. As a dermatology clinic director, I always emphasize to my patients the importance of healing. Enjoying a brief moment of leisure while taking in a beautiful view like this can be a wonderful form of healing, too.
Bathroom — Cleanliness and Functionality, Both Satisfied
Finally, I took a look at the bathroom. The sink is separated, which made washing up convenient, and a bidet was installed as well. As a dermatology clinic director, I’m particularly sensitive about hygiene management, and UH Flat’s bathroom amply met that standard of mine.
The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided were d’O (Dauphine) products — with a subtle scent and high quality, they were pleasant to use. Dauphine is a French brand, a company renowned for its total-living products. The fact that they pay attention even to a detail like this surely means they spare no effort for their guests’ comfort.
Towels and bath towels were also provided in ample supply, more than enough to use even for four people. A hair dryer was neatly organized below the sink as well.
Since the toilet and shower room are separated, it was also convenient for different family members or friends to use the bathroom at the same time in the morning. I think this is another one of the elements that enhances the stay experience.
Wrapping Up
In Part 2, we took a detailed look at the interior of UH Flat Gangnam’s room — from the living room, kitchen, and living infrastructure to the duplex bedroom, the view, and the bathroom.
Honestly, the room’s condition was truly excellent. Perhaps because it’s an accommodation that opened not long ago, it was clean without a speck of dust, and the combination of white-toned interior and wood accents created a space that was genuinely soothing to the eye.
In particular, the fact that a Samsung AirDresser and a washing machine are provided in the room is, I think, a truly attractive feature — not only for those staying long-term, but also for people who value self-care in their daily lives. As a dermatology clinic director, what I always say is that real self-care includes not just your skin but your attire as well. In that sense, I’d say UH Flat’s living infrastructure is perfect.
And the duplex layout was a genuinely smart choice. A party downstairs, sound sleep upstairs — a structure where the space is naturally separated yet still connected is, I think, truly well suited to trips with friends or family travel. You can put Netflix on separately downstairs and upstairs, so the continuity of entertainment can be perfectly maintained, too.
Considering the quality for the price, I think it’s genuinely hard to find an accommodation of this caliber in Gangnam. Places equipped with living infrastructure (an AirDresser, washing machine, and cooking facilities) in particular are quite rare.
In the next part, I’ll introduce the surrounding area within walking distance of UH Flat Gangnam. I’ll especially share must-visit points at OLIVE YOUNG, along with information on restaurants I visited myself. The idea is to enjoy shopping and food together while staying in Gangnam.
